Review of Zoo (2007) by Austin I — 23 Sep 2007
"Zoo" was stylistically a Frankenstein's Monster. I mean, this thing was all over the place: found footage, reenactments, actors acting, people involved in the real-life events trying to act, etc. Really confusing.
Then there's the story and the slant. Seemed like the filmmakers wanted to draw out the human thread that connects all of us, and that connects us to this sect of Washingtonian Zoophiles who like to "commune" with horses. It was daring, which is why.
I gave it more than one star, but I just couldn't get past the fact that---well yeah, these guys are human, but---they are talking about having sex with animals.
Zoo? Neigh.
