Review of Zomblies (2010) by Mark N — 12 Aug 2012
Terrible title aside this short comes in 2 halves. The opening is fantastic.. it feels realistic enough in how a military squad would traverse a zombie infested set of warehouses and the characters behave like real human beings for a change (even picking up weapons and conserving ammo).
The split comes when a character makes a ridiculous jump and breaks the realism and it;s's all down hill from there. The ethic of the opening breaks and people does and say stupid things and it turns into a shambles of cliche and rote plot.
A damn shame but still worthy of praise for what the opening accomplished.
