Review of Zombieland (2009) by Scott A — 23 Aug 2013

This only my second viewing and I'm gonna raise it a half star. It is quite fun, the zombies run more than walk and I love all the ways the get the rules to pop up in the background.

I think the film's problem is that Stone and Breslin come off as jerks for awhile, and when they finally join our heroes, they don't really get developed at all. Maybe they were saving that for the sequel?

I love Harrelson in this. Like little touches he gives his character, and the reveal of the true reason in his past may even make you tear up.

The Bill Murray cameo is pretty great, especially with all the Ghostbusters stuff. I LOVE Amber Heard, and she was such a bit role I wish it was longer, but her part was that important to the film though.

Zombie effects are good, and some great zombie death scenes.

It's really fun, but could have been a classic had it been a little longer and given us some reason to cares about the girls.
