Review of Zombieland (2009) by Vincent W — 29 Sep 2014
"A ROADTRIP THROUGH THE LAND OF THE DEAD".
- 'Zombieland' is a 2009 horror comedy from the hands of director Ruben Fleisher (). The plot is about a young man who teams up with some unlike survivors during a zombie apocalypse. We all know that zombies and comedy are a great match. I did enjoy the film, especially the rules to survive. Starring Jesse Eisenberg (Social Network, Now You See Me), Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, The Hunger Games Sage), Emma Stone (Superbad, The Amazing Spider-Man), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Ender's Game) and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Lost in Translation) as himself. 'Fasten your seatbelts, you're in for a hell of a ride!'.
College student Columbus (Eisenberg) is travelling from his dorm in Ohio to find out if his parents are still alive after a zombie apocalypse has fallen upon the world. He has been able to stay alive because he follows his list of rules. Along the way he gets a lift from Tallahasse (Harrelson), a redneck survivor who hates rules. The two of them get in to trouble when they are tricked by the sisters Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin) at a grocery store. Eventually the four of them end up teaming up and head for Pacific Playland, a theme park in Hollywood that's supposedly free of zombies. Will they survive the road trip?
