If I enjoyed myself it was mostly due to the charm of the actors, not the clichéd, jokeless script (lol he likes Twinkies, get it? It's an inherently funny word!) or the annoyingly stupid and thinly-written characters (Twinkies! What an oddball!), especially the women.
The direction is decent and energetic, but apart from the great opening credits, Fleischer fails to live up to his obvious and admitted influence. And ugh, that Bill Murray cameo. Talk about obsequious.
