Review of Zombie Strippers! (2008) by Spiros K — 04 Dec 2010
Zombie strippers should have been called "How many overdone and cliched jokes can we get into one movie?" There are some really surreal moments that are introduced to expound on the various stereotype jokes, like when we see the Hispanic janitor keeps a buro in the strip club supply closet.
It begins with fake news reports, which cover few items, like Bush's 4th term and the public announcement of the successful development of an engineered zombie virus.
What?
Immediately, we can see the special effects looklike they were done in flash by one high schooler. Made for tv movies on the scifi channel aren't this cheap. You either can't tell a zombie has been shot, or its head explodes. Also, the movie is way to darkly lit for a comedy. The zombies all have bloody mouths to make them more intimidating, but thanks to the shadowed colors, it looks like everyone has simply been eating lots of Oreo cookies.
A good 15 minutes of the movie really is just stripping, partly of the zombie variety. This is gorn not just in the sense of overdone violence, but also in that there is pornographic material. I should mention it's not very good porn, as I never found myself even the least bit aroused. Most of the laughs are derived from how bad the whole shebang is. I could only recommend this movie as prime material for MST3King with friends.
