Review of Zodiac (2007) by Anthony E — 27 Jan 2013
Excellent feature about the Zodiac killings that rocked the San Francisco Bay area in the late 1960s.
Meticulous recreation of the time period coupled with some creepy scenes lends authenticity to this story of frustration and obsession on the part of law enforcement officials, reporters, and cartoonist turned investigative reporter Robert Graysmith. Superb performances and deft direction by David Fincher make the 162 minute film an absorbing view.
Overshadowed by the more lurid "Se7en," but well worth watching. You'll never feel quite the same about the song "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by the time the end credits vanish from the screen.
