Review of Zodiac (2007) by Greg D — 24 Jun 2013
The length at first seems overwheling, but at the 2 hour mark, I became as obsessed with finding the killer as Gyllenhaal's character. The ending, the inconclusive ending, is both satisfactory for sticking with the original material, and not satisfactory for dragging viewers for 160 minutes and not giving a final answer.
It's a film that leaves questions, making it even the more compelling. Of course, this is in addition to Fincher's nerve-racking direction, and the always reliable cinematography of Harris Savides.
