Review of Zinda (2006) by Eshan W — 28 Aug 2010
Although Sanjay Gupta's ZINDA is a frame to frame copy of OldBoy, but its excellent narrative and re-written screenplay makes its even better than OldBoy.
The Narrative of Oldboy was highly confusing while Zinda has right way of telling the story.
It also has a new story and even dramatic too.
Now I can't tell the story because you have to watch its screenplay.
Sanjay Dutt as Balajeet Roy is magnification because his personality is outstanding for the character. John Abraham as Rohit Chopra is a billionaire in-seek of vengeance, he made Bala locked in for 14 years in a private jail and suddenly sets Bala independent.
Now Bala has some questions:-.
* Why he was imprisoned?
* Why he wasn't killed?
* Why he is now free now?
Basically why he is ZINDA (Alive)?
Story has a handful of characters, Lara Dutta, Raj Zutshi and Mahesh Majrekar, but they all do justice this masterpiece.
On technical level its good as Sanjay Gupta himself!
Brilliant Art Direction, nearly colorless and dark. Awesome music and background score. Almost a well made a product.
But above all, the direction by Sajay Gupta is fantastic even he has ripped scene too but excellent narrative hides it all.
Its a must watch for moviegoers and who love dark side of cinema.
