Review of Zeroville (2019) by Jluis_001 — 15 Nov 2020
The big issue with Franco and this film is not the lack of intent, but its astonishing superficiality and insignificance, in the face of its brutal attempt to take themselves more seriously, when everything that happens on screen is unable to achieve an effect of value.
This is Franco's The Room. Certainly without the pitiful level of quality of Wiseau's film, but his love for the novel certainly made him believe that he had a better film in his head than the one he ended up making.
