Review of Zerophilia (2005) by Rosie Y — 07 Nov 2009
Imagine any of Shakespeare's gender-bending comedies. Make the gender-bending occur at the genetic level rather than just costuming (there's a reason frogs appear throughout the movie).
You now have the premise of 'Zerophilia', the story of a college lad who finds he has a rare genetic condition, a quack doctor that is not all that she seems, and how all of this affects friendships, romance, and self-image.
Even thought the story resolution becomes rather obvious once you realize what's happening in the film, its enjoyable nonetheless, mainly due to good casting especially for Luke and Luca.
