Review of Zero Dark Thirty (2012) by Steve P — 29 Nov 2014

Kathryn Bigelow's engaging story about the greatest manhunt in history is very well directed and contains a knockout performance from Jessica Chastain. It is a lengthy film and it does drag in places but honestly nothing felt like it could be left out of the movie but the intensity definitely reduces in some places.

However, the final 30 minutes or so are an example of masterfully suspenseful film making. Even though you know the movie is going to end, you can't help but feel the intensity of the situation. The movie is fascinating and intense for the most part but only mildly suffers due some dragging moments in the length but the end payoff makes it mostly worth it.
