Review of Zelig (1983) by Can E — 07 Oct 2007
Interesting faux-doc with a lot of heart. To look at it now a days, the inserting of Woody Allen himself into old pictures and footage of the bygone era may not seem that impressive, but thinking about how they did it without the advantage of computer generation (ala something like Forest Gump) it becomes something truly impressive.
Itâ??s also pretty darn funny at moments, and the cadre of celebrity and expert cameos is really impressive. Also Mia Farrow is pretty impressive and sweet and the doctor attempting to help a man without a personality, find one.
Itâ??s a very original film that plays on several levels, being the obvious mockumentary, to a really romantic comedy.
