Review of Zelig (1983) by Orlando H — 09 Jan 2008
Many of the novelties exploited in Forest Gump make their appearance in this forgotten Allen masterpiece. Woody Allen demonstrates his ability to craft an exciting and compelling story using original stock footage and "archive" material he shot for the film.
Perhaps one of his best works; more of a period piece than a social satire, though the familiar Allenesque wit and humor make occasional cameos. A remarkable example of filmmaking.
