Review of Zelig (1983) by Mikey M — 04 Mar 2010
The toughest thing about watching this is getting past the notion of the chosen style - scratchy historical reels. That is the genius of it though and this mockumentary is full of sparkling Woody wit.
In honesty, this film will bore the pants off of anyone who doesn't have a genuine interest in cinema, but that cannot demean it in my mind. The love and attention to detail in its creation is mind-blowing and the style of the delivery demands that the writing be spot on. One of the purest pieces of deadpan comedy I have ever seen - I nearly pissed myself laughing several times.
