Review of Zelig (1983) by David S — 29 Oct 2010
Zelig is one of Allen's more unusual endeavors, and one of his most interesting. This mockumentary tracks the life of Leonard Zelig, the Human Chameleon, or as one interviewee calls him, the ultimate conformist.
Allen has fun with the documentary format, and there's some nifty effects work here that manages to place him in different time periods rather convincingly. Zelig is about something we all need and want: to be liked.
