Review of Zelig (1983) by Drew S — 30 May 2011
This is a solid comedy from Woody Allen and revolutionized the mock-documentary genre (one year before Spinal Tap). The idea of a human chameleon is inventive and funny. The special effects are very good as scenes are spliced together to make it seem like Allen is in the 1920's.
It is also a witty social satire that is silly, but the clever concept gets old quickly. This is the main reason why the film drags a little bit despite its short run time. It is a minor entry into Allen's numerous film catalog, but still a good one.
