Review of Zelig (1983) by Edgar C — 07 Oct 2011
This is Woody Allen at his most preposterously, unbelievably, endlessly genius! How can so much talent and intelligence can fit into one human's head? Zelig is the modern incarnation of the American dream, the fanatism preceeding the neoliberalism-driven economy absorbing a multi-cultural society in every possible aspect. Allen hides a strong social criticism brilliantly under clever layers of refined humor. If you rate it under 5 stars, there MUST be either some political/cultural reference, a dialogue, a sequence or a joke you didn't catch. There's no other possible explanation... except that your cinema taste sucks!
99/100.
