Review of Zelary (2003) by Martin M — 22 Jul 2009
At a walking pace throughout, this film explores many WW2 issues in a way few others do. Everything is done subtly and gradually grows, such that the sense of direction, the feelings towards different characters and attitudes towards rural Czech life change many times, taking the viewer in and delivering an excellent finale.
As ever, a great plot based on a true story. Some great performances. Recommended as something very fresh!
