Review of Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo (1970) by Jeff B — 02 Feb 2011
A really deeply-layered story that unfolds in a mysterious way and pits two masters against each other. This was my first experience with Katsu and, while I liked him, I found him to be rather mismatched against Mifune, who was awesome as usual.
He plays a more cold-hearted variation of his earlier Yojimbo character, but there's still lots of jokes to be had (from both swordsmen.) The ending was a bit strange, but cool all the same.
