Review of Zatoichi Challenged (1967) by Luke B — 31 Aug 2009
The same stuff, done well. Zatoichi is asked by a dying person to fulfill their last request (done before), he must then travel with a child (done before),his rather simple mission soon results in him incurring the wrath of local mobsters and corrupt government officials (done before).
It is all done at a high quality, and the emotion is still there. Plus, it also has the best one on one fight so far, a beautifully choreographed and simple effort, where those involved really seem to know what they are doing.
A decent entry, but don't expect to be too engrossed.
