Review of Zardoz (1974) by James B — 07 May 2011
Incredibly overwrought, amazingly pretentious, but not without its merits. Not Sean Connery's best work, but then again he only has a handful of dialogue to work with. Mostly quasi-intellectual musings about the nature of humankind, religion, sexuality.
Visually ambitious, but at times I felt like images were simply being thrust at me for their own sake.
