The latest from director/writer/editor Kevin Smith packs the same number of laughs as his foul-mouthed predecessors, but "Zach and Miri Make a Porno" fails to effectively balance its lewd and sweet aspects for comedy and romance.
The cast is terrific (especially a surprisingly sweet Elizabeth Banks and a shockingly crude Justin Long), but a less-than-polished script leaves the audience a little too squeamish to swoon for the titular characters.
