I've been reading a lot of Philip K Dick short stories. This is what would happen if you took one and didn't embellish it (Total Recall, Minority Report). It's still good, but be in the mood for a quiet low-sci sci-fi.
Not everything is spelled out for you, but you're seeing how society operates in the post-apocalypse.
