"Z for Zachariah" touches on many themes, but doesn't delve deeply enough into any of them. The post-apocalyptic milieu ultimately feels like a social experiment designed to study human instincts and courtship behaviour.
The film still manages to be engaging thanks to low-key and intelligent performances from Margot Robbie, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Chris Pine.
