I read the wiki of the film. I read the actual book. The book is great. Why would I bother to watch this film? The day they start crucifying script writers I will be right there handing them the nails. How can you do this to such a good story? A TRYST? Are you kidding? Who gave this the green light?

Why are really good stories being dumbed down into really stupid films?

Even I could write the script for this film with one hand behind my back.

I can just imagine the meeting where they float the idea of a THIRD character. and this: "Z for Zachariah wrings compelling drama out of its simplistic premise..." are you kidding me? The simplistic premise is that.

98% of life on earth has been exterminated and that the last few who have to survive are at their wits end. Ann's family die out in the deadness and the chap who turns up later is a nut case. Not enough drama for you? Sorry but I really like the Author and to see his book turned into this abomination is a testament to the morons who buy right to books to turn them into "dramas" to sell their own ideas. memo to those people: write your own books. Leave our authors alone. R for rubbish.
