Movie Matt here with Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie. It's quite clear that this was made in an attempt to see if they could successfully move the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" franchise to features like they were able to do with "Pokemon" but this was the lamest attempt.
As a fan of the franchise, this movie isn't canon at all & any attempts are fruitless to fit it into the canon. Those who might like it: Fans of the franchise will like it fine & those who aren't fans will turn a blind eye.
I liked it when I saw it before & now I just pretend It doesn't exist.
