Review of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie (2004) by Craig P — 31 Jul 2005
What I got here are a bunch of films that I've seen over the course of a few months that I never really felt motivated to write about. They are an assembly of bad sequels, book to movie adaptations, remakes, and kid cartoons. Dig in.

I like anime and the movies that they usually make suck, like pokemon. However this one fit better than most into the actual series albiet a mediocre one. It has corny lines, and but it could fit in as a 2 or 3 part episode of the show. If you like Yu-Gi-Oh! this is a decent flick, however, if you despise kiddy WB shows than avoid it for you own sake..

Mildly entertaining at points but come on. The orignial XXX dies? Nice it just gets ridiculous and the CGI is awful near the end. Ridiculous, you here me you ridiculous, ridiculous man you. They just tried too hard. If you want explosions get an old arnie or stallone flick..
Hostage.
Just ho hum. Didn't really capture the atomosphere of the book. Some good elements but not Bruce Willis at his best. Rather watch Diehard..
Be Cool.
I never thought that I'd get so bored with so much happening. I just hated it. Everyone was just out of place, like they didn't want to be there. I've never seen Get Shorty so I can't compare the two. I also particularly disliked the bat discussion scene. :SPOILER: A metal red bat is perfect for murder, won't splinter, blood doesn't show, and it can be recycled to protect our mother earth. :SPOILER:.
Assault on Precinct 13.
Predictable on all levels. Figured everything out in like 5 minutes exactly. Still entertaining but still slow at spots. It reminded me of Eraser where they use those uber guns that shot green beams, and then I realized I wasn't watching Eraser, and it made me sad..
