Review of You've Got Mail (1998) by Hejin C — 01 Dec 2009
New York City is the perfect backdrop for the story of two business competitors who fall in love over email. It reminds me of a time when technology was still in its infancy, when you really had to talk to someone in order to get to know them, when you couldn't sneakily Facebook-stalk them.
This movie gives me a sense of nostalgia that I don't even have the right to possess, since I grew up in an age of hyperconnectivity - and it is the movie's success in doing so that endears itself to me so much more.
