Review of Youth Without Youth (2007) by Avner K — 23 Jan 2008
Crappola; a movie without a movie; this direction-less piece loses it sense right after the nice setup, throwing in every genre in the book. Despite the pedigree, many scenes are only connected to each other through laughable dialog and awkward acting.
Coppola is NOT taking stock of his life -- his life was not that inane; he is preaching cerebrally obvious cliches. I give it 2 stars for the cinematography, and for the few good scenes.
