Review of Youth Without Youth (2007) by Doug B — 21 Jun 2008
Although I'm sure some people found this film a bit ambiguous I rather liked it alot. First off the entire mood of the film and the settings were done beautifully. I love the early 20th century European elegance and the 1930s style of the film itself.
Second, the story was genuinely intriguing. The whole concept of a new species and rejuvenation as well as reincarnation were nicely dealt with. I also liked the film's generally quiet nature. Again though, it's not for everybody.
If you like your standard action flicks or generic happy ending movies you probably won't find this to your liking. I found it different and interesting. One of the better flicks I've watched this year.
