Review of Youth Without Youth (2007) by Tommy C — 29 May 2008
Wow, one has to wonder what Coppola is thinking. One has to assume he could be making just about any kind of film he wants and he chooses this? It's an incomprehensible and uninteresting story. The conventional style when combined with the unconventional narrative serves to make it even more incomprehensible.
I hated it. Horrendous. Horrible from beginning to end. Shame on Coppola for wasting my time and squandering his latter years. What a difference there is between his career and the career of some of his compatriots.
Altman, for example. My only worry is that I didn't fully understand the picture and overrated it.
