Review of Youth in Revolt (2009) by James P — 18 Jan 2011
The teen angst-come-romance genre is a typically cliched one, and while Arteta's willfully curious book adaptation does much to buck trends (so too Cera for his evil alter-ego character), the results are slightly obtuse.
Chiefly because the success of the story relies on pitching for a morally questionable protagonist and a set of unlikeable characters.
