Review of Youth in Revolt (2009) by Peter T — 09 Jan 2012
The film is helped along by some genuinely witty dialogue, delivered perfectly by Michael Cera. Plus, there are some genuinely funny moments such as Cera trying to fake his own death in a car accident.
Unfortunately it's let down by a contrived plot, unnecessary characters inserted at intervals to try and raise cheap laughs and too many jokes about sex. Whilst infinitely better than a lot of so called 'teen' comedies (I.
E. the dire 'American Pie' franchise), this isn't anything to get excited about.
