Smart, quirky, and darkly funny, "Youth in Revolt" is made with style and showcases a somewhat unique performance from Cera, who is able to show off a slightly wider range here than "painfully awkward teen.
" Of course, one half of his performance is a painfully awkward teen, but the quick dialogue allows this tired performance to work better than it should. Rounded out by a nice supporting cast (Buscemi, Smart, Willard) this sexy-teen-rebellion-fantasy took me by surprise with its skillful, creative presentation.
