Cinematographic magnificence, beautifully layered visually and emotionally. A movie that asks and answers some very important questions about why and how we live our lives. For those willing to descend into deep water, you are in very good company.
Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Jane Fonda all give extraordinary performances and the music is a feast for the senses especially a piece called Simple Song #3 sung by Sumi Jo that was enough to bring me to the existential brink and left me weeping quietly in the dark.
