Review of Youth (2015) by Simon T — 06 Jan 2017
Strange, borderline pretentious, meditation on ageing and death which is redeemed by stunning cinematography, a haunting score, fine performances and - above all - a sardonic humour. It's also poignant to see Hollywood legends like Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Jane Fonda dipping their toes in European art house cinema and gloriously stripping away the fictions of great art.
