Review of Youth (2015) by Nick U — 23 Dec 2015
A film with beautiful scenery and gorgeous music! Michael Caine is fantastic as Fred a well known composer and conductor with a lot of serious problems from both the past and present time of his life. Rachel Weisz does fine work and at the beginning you feel for her, but as the movie gets tot he end you don't know what'll happen to her in the end.
Jane Fonda, who only appears in the film for 5 minutes does deliver quite a performance playing an actress who turns down a film to star in a television series. She has this scene with Mick, a film screen writer played by Harvey Keitel who really has great freindship chemistry with Michael Caine(Fred).
Overall it's dull in some spots and the story is a bit slow and weak in some areas. There's also a bit of depressing moments as well. The film is also beautifully well shot. My grade=88%(B+).
