Review of You're Not You (2014) by Josha D — 30 Apr 2015
This is what I call a tear jerker! The movie's story is quite predictable and nothing that hasn't been done in some way, but the two main actresses raise it to a whole other level. The chemistry between Hillary Swank and Emmy Rossum is great, and they both acted out their roles amazingly.
Many of the characters in the movie are jerks and just highly unlikeable, with some exceptions of course. Even with the lack of many interesting characters (except Bec and Kate), the character development is really good.
Which can be noticed the most in the transformation of Bec from an unresponsible and uncaring to the person who cares about the Kate the most. The ending, even though predictable, manages to move you emotionaly and shock you.
All in all, a very good drama with some great Swank-Rossum moments will move you, but won't make you want to see it again.
