(2013) You're Next.
SUSPENSE HORROR.
At the opening, showcases an unknown couple being hacked to death. Then the film jumps to a family of a mom and dad with 4 of their already grown up children bringing along with them their spouses to spend some time with the dad's new retirement cottage. The next thing you know, they're also getting stalked and then killed by the very same people who killed by people wearing masks, starting with the sister's boyfriend getting an arrow shot to his forehead.
Low budget and lacks credibility if you've seen as many movies as I have, the motive for the killings may be obvious to some without fully knowing the circumstances since the movie doesn't leave any hints. It does however, known to showcase some never before seen gruesome retaliation, and is only possible to be shown in this film, even though viewers are totally oblivious about the survivor's knowledge to use the tools to strike back. The killings that happen on the second half almost looks like a direct inspiration from "Straw Dogs".
2 out of 4 stars.
