Review of You're Next (2013) by Brandon W — 16 Aug 2014
You're Next was so close to be a decent horror movie, but there was a lot of problems that ruined it. The good things about this is that the main girl is the best part of the movie, and defending herself was awesome even though I wish there was more of it, the humor was funny even though it should've been more funny, the effects are good, for the most part, the acting is good, and the music is good.
The main girl makes me want to see a movie just about her and defending herself. The problems about this movie is that it's not scary, the jump scares were not effective, there was some moments that either the heroine, or the villains, had time to stab a person on the head, but they stab them on the shoulder.
There was some shaky cam that didn't work and just come to a point that I can't see what's going on. It was kind of stupid, I don't understand why, but it was. It is actually nice to see actors that came from independent movies come into this movie that gets into theaters, but sadly this is wasn't the right movie for them to be in and I was disappointed in it.
