A slick, self-aware romp that sports a haunting atmosphere and a handful of enjoyable performances. Though the tone occasionally can't find a proper balance, with emotionally uncomfortable deaths undoubtedly clashing with the zanier, darkly-comic violence, the film as a whole is comparable to "Cabin in the Woods" in its deconstruction of familiar tropes.
