An overly complex mess with a formulaic ending. There is too much pompous dialog and too much wide-eyed, cloying 'innocence'-mongering, and after all, what is the purpose? Pseudo-profundity in spades, but the characters are one-dimensional and flat just like their animated representations.
If you expect to be entertained by this, save your money and stay home or leave the theater feeling cheated. Cartoons used to be fun, but don't expect any laughs or even much content of any kind from this.
It's all too self-conscious and too precious for that.
