Review of Your Name. (2016) by Jerome K — 28 Feb 2017
I had no idea what this film was going to be about when I watched it; I just knew it's one of the highest grossing films of all time in Japan. That was reason enough for me to want to see it, and I'm really glad I did.
Aside from the beautiful animation, the characters are really well-developed, and the story is more intricate then it first appears. While not a Studio Ghibli film, it does bring to mind the subdued but no less powerful Studio Ghibli films like When Marnie Was There or From Up On Poppy Hill.
There's a good balance of lighthearted and serious moments to make it a delight from start to finish.
