Review of Your Name. (2016) by Jacob M — 20 Apr 2017
Your Name Review (2016 in Japan) (2017 in America).
Here is the basic plot of the movie: A teenage boy and girl embark on a quest to meet each other for the first time after they magically swap bodies.
Thats all you need to know cause I only knew and my Favorite Review Chris Stuckman loved this movie and i've been wanting to watch and now I have.
And Honestly I LOVE THIS MOVIE and yes I didn't watch the Dub version cause thats on available yet so I watched the Sub version I think I would of gotten the same Reaction to watching this film if its in Japanese or English I love this movie now I'm a huge fan of Anime and I love Original Anime Style movies.
The Characters are so well fleshed out that you care about them alot.
This miovie makes you believe two people who don't even know each other could fall in Love with each other even without knowing each other cause they step into each others bodies and life just for one day.
The Animation Style is Insanely Beautiful I miss Traditional Handdrawn Animation.
The Musical Score is Fantastic.
Makoto Shinkai amazing directing (Whos all his movies so far that I heard is the same making characters who are star crossed lovers) but after watching Your Name he does an amazing job with it.
The Humor I usually love Anime Humor alot.
The Tone can go from being very Humorous to Serious, to Susepenceful it flows amazingly unlike some Comedy-Dramas told in Live Action format.
This movie reminds you that even though Hayao Miyazaki Retired we still have Mamoru Hosoda (Digimon, Summer Wars, The Boy and the Beast) and now Makoto Shinkai who I didn't who he was but now I do and now I wanna watch his past work and cant wait for his future films.
Overall: If you are a Anime fan and know other movies from Makoto Shinkai you might love this movie the same way as I do, if you arent a Anime fan then I guess don't watch it.
Overall Grade: A+.
(To be Honest even though this came out in Japan in 2016 I will make this a 2017 Film for me since it came out in America in 2017).
