Some of this movie was funny. Much funnier than your usual stoner film. But Danny McBride no matter what film he's in, never fully breaks away from his Kenny Powers persona. As evident with him being the only character referencing, and smoking pot.
I wouldn't have minded losing McPowers and just having James Franco be the staring male role. James Franco and Natalie Portman would've been better. Plus if you're going to have a stoner film, why make James Franco the supporting actor? The man shows up to talk-shows stoned, including the oscars.
