Review of Your Highness (2010) by Ron S — 25 Mar 2012
I was expecting this to be "Scary Movie" bad but thankfully it actually has a story rather than being a series of lampoons of fantasy tropes. That said, it is clear who they are mocking throughout. Now I have to admit your enjoyment of this film will depend largely on how funny you think jokes are about sex and genitals are (delivered with lots of swearing). Danny McBride is very good at being "Danny Mcbride" and he delivers his foul mouthed lines with style. What's more surprising is the number of "good" actors who turn up in this film at ham it up throughout. James Franco and Natalie Portman especially, have either a very good sense of humour or a terrible taste in the films they take on. Sadly Zooey Deschael doesn't get much to do but does damsel in distress relatively well,.
So on many levels the film is bad but it's intentionally so for the most part and that's part of the fun.
