Review of Young People Fucking (2007) by Robert J — 01 Aug 2008
The film follows several couples with differing relationships (exes, roommates, couples, best friends, etc.) and chronicles their sexual difficulties of the evening. The stories come in various acts and are intertwined throughout the whole film.
The movie is tangy, full of flare, and often hilarious. The dialogue is witty and the film is brutally honest and awkward. It highlights all sorts of interesting psychological behavior and attitudes regarding people and sex, but the film only does so subtly and is certainly oriented towards being a comedy rather than a thought-piece.
Overall, it's a smart film that is at times laugh-out-loud hilarious and spot-on with its depiction of human emotion and awkwardness.
