Review of Young People Fucking (2007) by Bonnie D — 17 Oct 2009

Well, if anyone can get past the bluntness of the title (which is pretty much true), this is a genuinely good film. Young people are having sex, but what's important about the movie is discovering WHY they're having sex. Are they hurt over a break-up and need to let off some steam? Are they exes and who have yet to get over one another? Or are they a couple who have been together so long they aren't excited about sex any longer?

The movie is rated NC-17, and I think that's pretty fair. I don't think the majority of people under 17 will be able to get past the "f#@king" to see the emotions that are really being displayed here. The older crowd will surely appreciate this smart comedy that aims for the heart, rather than below the waist.
