Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Paul P — 28 Jul 2010

I still lean towards 'Willy Wonka'' for Gene Wilder's finest hour but 'Young Frankenstein' comes close. Not a satire or really a spoof for that matter, more of a comedic re-imagining of the original 'Frankenstein'.

While the film is damn funny, you can feel a real love for this material. I would've loved to see this one fly off the rails a little more much like 'Blazing Sadles' did. Every performance is gold.

Picking a favorite performance between Wilder, Feldman, Leachman and Hackman is impossible.
